Nice weight. Super clean action. Sharp.
Alright, I've gotta say, this is knife far exceeded my expectations in every way. I scooped up the RCK9 in green micarta and out of the box, I could just tell this thing is a user. The quality of micarta is exceptional and gets grippy as hell when wet. Blade centering is dead on. The ball bearing action is smooth and lockup is rock solid. The factory edge feels and cuts like it was finished by hand (maybe it is?) and is reminiscent of Rick Hinderer's slicer grind on his XM-18's. All of my knives get used hard, so I decided to go to work behind my house and see what this little guy can do. It made light work of slicing through 2" thick cordage when I was re-hanging my hammock, feathersticked some dead fall with ease, sliced up some cardboard boxes(push cutting, no less) and afterwards, the edge was pristine. Tool grade steel like D2 will forever be a type I can rely on. I expect that touching it up with a strop and some green compound is all I'll need to keep up a good working edge for the most part. The concept behind this company is one I can certainly get behind - making a hard use, daily driver knife you can rely on, that's priced in a realm that's accessible to the masses. Will absolutely be grabbing a few more of these in the near future. Bravo Eikonic, you guys nailed it.
